To service these clients in the manner to which they will become accustomed, and to keep our PHP and JavaScript development in its current industry-leading position, we need to take on staff in the following roles:
- Project Manager
- Javascript Developer
- PHP Developer
Project/Account Manager
Responsibilities:
- Meet and engage with Byng Systems' clients
- Discuss requirements with clients and developers
- Collate and formalise project requirements
- Manage the client's relationship with Byng
The ideal candidate would be:
- An excellent communicator
- Comfortable acting in a prominent client-facing role
- Proficient in office tools
- Comfortable with timelines, project scoping and scheduling
JavaScript/UI Developer
Responsibilites:
- Compose layouts, templates and produce sites
- Join backend PHP APIs with frontend Javascript libraries
- Perform testing & quality assurance
The ideal candidate would be:
- Comfortable, if not proficient, in PHP
- Proficient in Javascript, experience with mootools and jQuery an advantage
- Proficient in HTML & CSS, with particular regard to cross-browser compatibility
- Comfortable with web accessibility principles
- Aware of use case testing, unit testing and iterative/agile development processes
- Familar with SVN/CVS and version control
PHP Developer
Responsibilities:
- Creating object models in PHP using configured database schemas and entity descriptions
- Creating APIs to manipulate the model, using use cases as guides.
- Devising database schemas and object maps
The ideal candidate would be:
- Solidly grounded in object-oriented principles
- Proficient PHP programmer
- Comfortable working across backend and frontend design patterns
- Comfortable with templating engines
- Familar with SVN/CVS and version control
- Aware of use case testing, unit testing and iterative/agile development processes
