How to build Uncle Bill an e-commerce website with Vendio

06th January 11 - Posted by Ollie Maitland

We're all asked about how our latest eBay fiend friend to build them a lovely e-commerce website. If you're a very generous person then spend a few weeks hammering out a Magento installation but then the support...hosting... upgrades. No thanks, it's enough hassle if you're going to get paid for this.

After venturing down the route of finding a software-as-a-service based e-commerce package I was surprise to find that the market out their is somewhat noisy but out of the 10-a-penny start-ups came across Vendio (http://www.vendio.com/). They appear to be a reputable company (http://www.crunchbase.com/company/vendio) and recently aquired by Alibaba.com.

The good parts:

  • Integration with eBay (I sold this as another sales channel)
  • No upfront cost (low risk and no capital investment)
  • Mobile support (think big!)
  • Good designs to choose from (so you don't even have to open Adobe CS)

Generally a find for granny and a win for you; family harmony and more time for the enterprise!

See, all happy ;)

Happy family
